I expect that the McKenna grapevine has let everyone know that the McKenna family Thanksgiving is back! Hooray. In past years its location gets decided while sitting by the lake in Harrisville at 4th of July. This year it just kind of happened, maybe led by the LI crew. Peri and I threw our hats in the ring. We are psyched that we will be hosting.

We welcome you all.

Boston is OK , seeming to have met its first challenge of hundreds of thousands of college kids being back and the start of school. It feels open and safe. This weekend the hotels are full for the Boston Marathon. We are sure we can all be safe and have a great time.

So far a place to sleep has been reserved by Hanna and Billy, Hope and Diego and Mila and Megan, I think. We count a total of 13 beds available, not counting the loft or couches. We heard that Eric will be at Noah and Hendrix's. Laura's mom and dad will be joining us from Oregon, likely staying at Tobin and Laura's spot about a 1/2 mile from here. Matt and Karen's AirBNB is no longer an airtBNB. Let us know if we can help find you accomodations.famil

Also let us know if you want us to get you ingredients for a particular dish or if there is a dish that you particularly like on this day. We will probably smoke 2 small turkeys and put one in the oven and we have tons of kale.

Car rentals still are ridiculous and app rides are a little congested so maybe we should let each other know air arrival times so we can coordinate rides.

All of us who are vaccinated should be fine. The babies and children pose a little more of a challenge as they are not protected and could potentially transmit the virus. Assuming all the adults are vaccinated, we think that we should be ok, inside, without masks. We will have good ventilation, a HEPA air purifier and plenty of hand sanitizer. If you or any of your adult cohort are not vaccinated or have symptoms please let us know as soon as you can so we can work with you to keep everyone safe.
