Hi Shannon, Peggy and Annie,
It is so very rare that I get to a second interview (next Thursday) so I thought I'd share my experience and perhaps you may know someone who knows someone.... The company is BuyerZone in Waltham. I interviewed with Mende Williams, head of UI (user interface) design. I got connected through a head hunter named Emma Santoro From Talener. She works with Joe Barbano and Benjamin Hayes. I am dutifully following all their LinkedIn connections.
Any way today the bloody winter seems to be over and it is easy to be optimistic. I hope you are all doing well. Wish me luck next Thursday. It would be nice to have a job.
All the best,
Tim
Hi Emma,
Thanks to you and Joe and Ben for your friendly intensity in the way you do your jobs. Mende made a good case for how the tech group at Buyer Zone gets things done your team has done a great job in bringing this opportunity to life. Please forward the note that follows to Mende Williams.
All the best,
Tim
Dear Mende:
Thanks for taking the time to talk to me today. It was an cool process that they have there at Talener and I am grateful to them for connecting me to your company.
Buyer Zone has an important place in the B2B world and that appears to translates to lots of challenges and opportunities for the tech group. I am sure it is rewarding and exhausting to hit your marks in your monthly 'scrums'. I like your portrayal of the team environment and the flexible approach to combining its members to best accomplish goals.
There is something magical about writing software. You create substance and value out of thin air and electrons with no need for concrete material. In the software world today, the heart of the process is moving toward the front-end and a big element in the magic making is javascript development. The tools seem to improve on a monthly basis, and the javascript community is among the most active.
Working on your team would be great place for me to be. I am sure I would be a positive contributor. I am very smart, I work extremely hard and feel successful when my team is winning. I am passionate about producing clean code whose intent is clear; code that works well and is easy to maintain. I am looking forward to meeting with you again next week and ask that you contact me if there is anything you need to help in your decision making process.
Sincerely,
Timothy McKenna
