So I got Asher this makeBlock STEM car thing that is based on my favorite processor (ESP32), a block based computer language for kids (Scratch) and the ability to switch from graphical programming to see what that program looks like in python. Of course, as I have done since my days of doing my sibling Christmas shopping for my parents, I always play with the presents before Christmas.

It is super cool but Asher would need a lot of support even though it is rated 8+. It practically requires that a 'teacher' develop a STEM curriculum to act as a guide. That's actually the market they are working on the most. I would like to describe to Asher how it would be fun and interesting to have me pick him up from school one day a week and work/play on this platform. I will give him the option of getting something else instead, maybe a drone like I got for his brother. Perhaps I would ask him to commit to 2-4 sessions and then he could decide to re-up or not.

I would be investing my time in figuring stuff out ahead of time and then guiding Asher's discovery in our sessions.

Would you both support me in this? If you think it is not a good idea or doable let me know and I can figure out something else.
