heat/internet

Wifi SSID is street_no_vale2 or street_no_vale5 and the passwords for both is jjjjjjjj (8js)

Heat will be held at 68 degrees in the living room, tv room, 1st floor guest room until Jan 1. From the 26th til the first, the second floor except Peri's study will be held at 68 degrees. The 3rd floor, Peri's Study and music room will be kept cooler. You shouldn't need to do anything. If for some reason it crashes, open the wood cabinet glass door in the 1st floor guest room, disconnect the blue usb cable from the circuit board, count to 10 and reconnect.

FYI The heating system runs from an web app http:hvac.sitebuilt.net that you can access from mobile device or laptop. It will tell you the temperatures in each zone and lets you control the system. If, say, someone was going to sleep on the third floor, you could boost the temperature on that floor to 68 for however many hours you wanted.

tv/stereo

TV is Directv, grey remote. it is a little slow to respond but we get most every channel. For the stereo please trun down the volume before switching anything, some inputs are way louder than others. Output A is living room speakers, B is bathroom speakers, the black amp below that controls kitchen and tvroom speakers.

garbage/recycling

There are recycling bins behind the doors to the right of the refrigerator. There is a compost pile surrounded by a green plastic fence out the back door toward the high stone wall.

Trash and recycling get put out Monday evening for Tuesday pickup. You can dump the small bue bins into the big blue bin and roll it down.

parking

The driveway should be kept clear. Up back, the left spot is for John and Sue. You can park to the right. Down below it doesn't matter.

kitchen

Please don't set any raw meat packaging on the butcher block. We use it for chopping, the right side is the only place we chop garlic and onions.

The coffee grinder is set up to grind right into the expresso cofee holder. One press wakes it up, the next start it grinding, the next stops grinding. There is a coffe cone somewhere in the second draw near the fridge and filters in the top right drawer there. But we usually just heat a little milk in the microwave for 30 sec, grid the beans into the exprosso container, tamp them a little then put the cup under the expresso machine and hit the left upper button. The machine turns on with the right button and is ready to brew when the left button lights. We don't use the left lower button. When it runs out of water the container can be removed once you take off the filter thing. Or you can fill it from above.

dog/cat

Uli has some friends who sometimes come to the door and ask him to go out and play in the yard. That's cool. They bring him back. Lately we have been wiping his feet with a towel on his way in. Either that or he will quickly track wet mud everywhere.

Uli is now allowed on any furniture, he likes his crate and we no longer close its doors. Mabibi is allowed in and out during the day but we try to keep her in once it gets dark.
