Re: Win7 on HP Pavillion dv7 laptop - wireless connection issues [ Edited ] Options 10-24-2010 06:39:41 PM - last edited on 10-24-2010 06:44:44 PM
a technician installing the system and fixing wireless told me that he had several instances in which he had to disable Wi-Fi Protected Setup under the WiFi setting in the 2Wire router settings with Windows 7 machines: http://192.168.1.254/xslt?PAGE=C_2_1 He said, by temporarily disabling the Protected Setup he was able to connect Windows 7 devices that wouldn't connect with it enabled.
other things to try: - In Windows 7 completely disable/re-enable the wireless device (Change Adapter Settings - click on adapter and disable - then re-enable). that will clear possible IP conflicts. - open command prompt and type: ipconfig /renew on the Windows 7 machine.
good luck. I am sure you can still return the new router within 30days of purchase if you find the solution.
