1/20/14 to Eddie, Paul Hi Eddie,
We generally like our new CX-5 but have a concern about gas mileage. We find that doing exactly the same kind of driving (at this point all city) and in exactly the same weather, the AWD CX-5 gets worse gas mileage that our old Subaru Forester. We are on our third tank of gas and are getting just over 17 mpg. In the city in the winter the Forester got over 18 mpg.
car EPA CX-5: 24-32 Forester: 20-26
This is surprising. We have been very easy on the gas pedal, and have not towed anything or used the + - shift thing.
Perhaps something is wrong with the computer. Looking at http://Fuelly.com the 2.5 CX-5 AWD averages around 28. Our numbers are outliers. They will pull that average down.
Do you have any suggestions?
